As explained by Sadhguru:
“Essentially, we do not raise consciousness. We raise your experience so that you become more conscious. All of us are conscious to some extent. The question is to what degree you are conscious. You do not have to raise your consciousness – you have to raise yourself to find access to it and experience it. Consciousness is there all the time. You are alive – that means you are conscious. If you become identified with consciousness, you will experience everyone as yourself. This is what yoga means.
Yoga means becoming one with everything, or in other words, obliterating the boundaries of who you are. Expanding the sensory boundaries in such a way that if you sit here, the entire universe is a part of yourself – this is yoga; this is raising consciousness.”
4 States of Consciousness
Jagruti (Waking State) – In this state, consciousness is turned outwards to the external world. Experiencing is through the use of senses.
Svapna (Deep Sleep State) – In this state, consciousness is turned towards the inner world. The mind can work out its unfulfilled wishes and attractions that are not allowed to play out in the external world.
Sushupti (Deep Sleep State) – In this unconscious state, there is no desire nor any dream. The deep impression of the mind is stored here in the latent form, like seeds. When certain conditions are met, they can play out in dream or grow into actions in the waking state.
Turiya (Super Consciousness State) – In this state, consciousness is neither turned inward or outward, it permeates and observes the other three states.
- You feel Energised
- Reduced Stress
- Unfold the Secret of Life – Happiness is that state of consciousness which proceeds from the achievement of one’s value – Ayn Rand
- Expand your Wisdom and Intuition
- Creativity is the state of consciousness in which you enter to your inner treasury of your innermost being and bring the beauty to manifestation – Torkom Saraydarian
When the higher mind is driving the subconscious, many people experience a spiritual awakening. A more pronounced spirituality will mean a mindset that chooses to remain calm, focused and driven toward positive aspects of life. It also means having the determination to overcome with the help of a higher power. This higher power is both similar and influential to the subconscious mind.
